Wellbeing at Haygrove
Welcome to wellbeing at Haygrove!
At Haygrove, our Wellbeing Team supports students to develop the school’s character traits and thrive socially, emotionally, and academically. We work with young people who may find it difficult to demonstrate these traits due to their SEMH needs, offering understanding, encouragement, and targeted support.
Supporting every student to thrive
Developing Haygrove’s character traits
As a wellbeing team we focus on nurturing the character traits that help students grow into confident, resilient, and compassionate young people. We particularly focus on:
- Building Resilience: Ability to bounce back from setbacks, cope with stress, and keep trying.
- Developing Empathy: Helping students to understanding the feelings of others, building supportive relationships.
- Fostering Respect: Valuing diversity, listening actively, and treating peers and staff with dignity.
- Encouraging Perseverance: Sustained effort in learning and personal growth, even when challenges arise.
- Developing Self-awareness: Recognising emotions, strengths, and areas for improvement.
- Building Confidence: Believing in one’s ability to succeed, balanced with humility.
How we support students
At Haygrove, our Wellbeing Team supports students who may find it difficult to demonstrate the school’s character traits because of their social, emotional, or mental health (SEMH) needs. For some young people, showing resilience, respect, or confidence can feel overwhelming at certain times.
Our role is to nurture and develop these traits through understanding, encouragement, and targeted support. We work alongside students to help them rebuild confidence, strengthen emotional literacy, and re‑engage positively with school life.
Wellbeing at Haygrove isn’t just about responding to challenges, it’s about fostering growth, empathy, and self‑belief so every student can thrive both personally and academically.
