Welcome to our new joiners for September 2026!
We hope this page and the video below helps you find out a little bit more about life at Haygrove School ready for when your child starts with us. We are so excited to welcome you all as part of our Haygrove community.
Haygrove's excellent partnerships with our local primary schools ensure continuity of support and a smooth transition process for our new Year 7 joiners. In May and June, our senior staff visit all our local primary schools to talk to Year 6 students about Haygrove School, our expectations and opportunities.
Our July Induction Day provides an opportunity for Year 6 students who are joining us in September to experience some lessons and make friends within their Tutor Group. Students will find out about the details of their Tutor Group allocation on the day. Parents and pupils will have the opportunity to meet with Tutors, Head of Year and senior staff in the evening.
Transition Events
Parent and Carers Meeting ahead of the Transition Day – Thursday 25th June 2026
In a change to our usual transition arrangements, we are pleased to be introducing a Parent and Carers’ Information Evening ahead of the Transition Day and Evening. The purpose of this meeting is to provide families with a clear understanding of what to expect during the transition process and how we will be supporting your child through this important step in their education. Further information has been shared home, please contact us if you have not received this.
Transition Day and Evening – Wednesday 1st July 2026
Our Transition Day for students and the Transition Evening for parents will take place on Wednesday 1st July. Further details about these events will be sent to you closer to the time.
Go Global Summer School - Thursday 23rd – Saturday 25th July, 9am – 3pm
During the summer holidays, we are running our three packed days of Global Learning opportunities for our new Year 7s. These enable students to build confidence, familiarise themselves with the school and begin to meet new friends and classmates. The letters have been emailed home but can also be found on our Letters Home page.
