Parent Support
We’re here to support your child’s emotional, social, and mental wellbeing.
At Haygrove, we understand that young people can face challenges that affect their wellbeing, confidence, and engagement with school. Our Wellbeing Team (Willow) works closely with families to provide early support, targeted interventions, and access to specialist services when needed. If you are worried about your child, you are not alone — and we are here to help.
What To Do If You’re Worried About Your Child
Your first point of contact is your child’s Head of Year. They will gather your concerns and refer to the Senior Mental Health Lead (SMHL).
What happens next?
The SMHL will:
- Obtain parent voice
- Ask the Wellbeing Team to gather student voice through a wellbeing triage
- Decide the most appropriate support pathway
This triage considers three possible routes:
- a) Mild to Moderate Needs
Your child may be referred to school‑based interventions such as:
- Wellbeing support (Willow)
- ELSA sessions
- Solution‑Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)
- Mental Health Support Team (MHST) interventions
If difficulties continue, a referral to school counselling may be made.
- b) Trauma‑Linked Needs
If your child’s struggles relate to trauma, they may be referred to In Charley’s Memory for counselling. After counselling, the SMHL will review whether further support is needed.
- c) Immediate Risk
If your child is at immediate or serious risk, the school will make an urgent referral to CAMHS. CAMHS will triage and provide support. They may refer back to school for ongoing support.
Important: Each intervention needs time to work. Only one referral will be active at a time to avoid overwhelming your child.
