Supersonic Success for Our Year 9 and 10 Esports Teams

Students from Years 9 and 10 at Haygrove School travelled to Teignmouth Community School to take part in the second Supersonic Showcase—an exciting esports tournament open to schools of all types from across the Southwest. Although the competition drew teams from a wide area, the majority of schools represented were from Devon, giving the event a real regional buzz.

Last year, our Rocket League team competed remotely, so arriving on-site for this year’s showcase was a fantastic experience. They entered the arena with a reputation to uphold after placing second in 2025, and they certainly lived up to it.

Throughout the day, our students Archie, Mylo, Archie, Leo and Zack demonstrated outstanding teamwork, strategy, and composure. They remained undefeated in every one of their matches. Their performance in the semi-final and final was exceptional, showcasing both skill and sportsmanship. After a thrilling final round, our team claimed first place, earning the title of Supersonic Showcase Grand champions and proudly bringing back a well-deserved trophy.

Our Year 9 Fortnite players also represented the school brilliantly. Despite experiencing some technical difficulties on the day, they handled the challenges with maturity and positivity. Their attitude, teamwork, and enthusiasm were a pleasure to witness, and they were an absolute delight to have with us throughout the event.

A huge congratulations to all involved—an inspiring achievement. Thank you to everyone who helped organise the event and supported our students in having such a fantastic day.
