Year 7 geographers put map skills to the test!

Year 7 students at Haygrove School have been taking part in some really fun and interactive geography lessons this week designed to put their map reading skills to the test.

Using Ordnance Survey maps, students were challenged to complete a story using only grid references as clues. Each blank in the story corresponded to a location on the map, and by accurately interpreting the references, students were able to find the correct names to fill in the gaps.

The activity helped students to reinforce key geographical skills, using six-figure grid references and reading maps with precision. It also encouraged problem-solving, teamwork, and attention to detail.
