The intent of our food technology curriculum is to apply the principles of nutrition and healthy eating and instil in our students a love of cooking.
Learning how to cook is a crucial life skill for students now and in later life.
Throughout Key Stage 3 we encourage independent learning through practical participation and students will follow a range of savoury and sweet recipes to develop key cookery skills.
The department ensures that students have a wide understanding of environmental impacts on our choice of foods. Students learn about multicultural foods and experience how different cultural foods influence our everyday food choices here in the UK and also gain an understanding the impact on the environment of food waste.
