Mrs Lynch has been practising yoga for 27 years and set up the yoga and mindfulness club in 2018 with Miss Stevens, a PGCE student, with the aim of sharing the many physical and mental benefits that yoga provides; dealing with anxiety and stress, building up our body's core strength and flexibility and enhancing concentration to name a few.
The challenging yoga poses might include the cat, downward and upward-facing dog, tree, triangle, warrior, half-moon, dancer and corpse, and diverse mindfulness activities such as the singing bowl, candle gazing, trust exercises or meditation. The students who attend the yoga and mindfulness class find themselves having the ability to let the stresses and strains of the day go and relax much more deeply.
Mrs Lynch said, "We have fun and support each other. Yoga is for everyone."
