Our Year 7 students returned home last week from the New Forest where they had been camping and getting involved in all sorts of outdoor adventures! Luckily the rain stayed away as students settled into camp life, working together to cook and clean and meeting each task with a smile.
Camp was jam packed with adventurous activities including archery, high ropes, tunnelling, mountain biking, swimming and a day trip to the Beaulieu Motor Museum where they could ride on a vintage bus and a monorail as well as visit the historical Montagu House to learn about the history and heritage of Beaulieu.
Carrying on the tradition of every school, Scout or Guide camp, the teachers (especially Mr Hellyer) got everyone singing along and doing the actions to campfire songs each evening. As camp drew to a close and the coaches headed home, the sound of singing could be heard as Year 7 re-lived the campfire songs and reminisced about the great time they’d all had on camp.
Mrs Clark said, “We are very proud of all of our Year 7s that came out on camp. They behaved brilliantly throughout and made the most of every opportunity, giving everything their best shot. I’ve had a brilliant week of camping and have many marvellous memories to treasure.”
We would like to thank Mrs Clark for organising another year of wonderful camping and thank all of the staff/helpers that were involved.
