We are delighted you are considering our school for your child. Haygrove is an excellent secondary school where pupils make good progress and achieve outstanding examination results.
Below are links to some of the important information you need to make the right decision for your family:
Our students have been celebrating excellent GCSE results once again this year. Whilst a grade 4 is considered a standard pass at GCSE, Haygrove students are encouraged to go beyond this target and overall 42% achieved a strong pass at grade 5 or above in both GCSE English and GCSE Mathematics whilst 66% achieved a grade 4 or above in both subjects.
In the compulsory subjects of English, Maths and Science, over 59% of students achieved a strong pass at grade 5 or above in English with 52% achieving the same in Mathematics and 53% in at least two Science subjects. The school’s standard pass percentage was 76% in English and 73% in Maths. Overall 18% of grades awarded to Haygrove students were at grade 7 or higher. These excellent results were replicated across a wide range of subjects which confirms the breadth of achievement at the school.
Associate Head teacher, Mr Aaron Reid said, “GCSE exams are challenging and I am so proud that our students have pushed themselves to achieve such great results this year. Both the curriculum and the exams are tougher than in recent years and our results are a credit to the hard work of all our students, their parents and our staff.”
The top six achievers were E Benbow, A Savage, J Brown, J Painter, M Wilson and N Evans who collectively achieved 25 GCSEs at the highest grade 9 and 60 GCSEs at grade 7 or above. Overall, 19 students achieved an average grade of 7 or higher across their 10 exam subjects.
Our top 6 students for making progress were J Porter, M Wilson, G Morton Thomas, J Painter, S Rowe and D Gunning who collectively achieved 50 GCSEs at grade 6 or higher.
Headteacher Mrs Canham said ‘It was a real privilege to be amongst so many happy students this morning. I would like to congratulate all of our students for their fantastic achievements. We are tremendously proud of you all and wish you all the very best in your future.’
