As part of their Art and Design: Textiles curriculum, Year 9 students took on a paper challenge set by Mrs Jones to create a piece of wearable art made only from paper. After reviewing garments shown on the catwalk of the 2019 Paris Fashion Show, the students worked in teams of 4 or 5 to design and make their costume, with their creativity only limited by the criteria that the paper sheets could only be folded, cut or woven and stuck with dressmaker pins!
Textiles Teacher, Miss Jones said, “The students approached this task with such enthusiasm! It only took them a couple of hours to create these stunning outfits. It is wonderful to see how creative they can be and how they are able to problem solve to make their ideas a reality.”
Congratulations to everyone involved in this creative classroom project!
