Year 8 Camp this year was held at Wimbleball Lake on Exmoor which gave our students the opportunity to take part in a number of exciting outdoor activities, as well as experience camp cooking and sleeping under the stars.
They arrived on site on Monday morning and were immediately set the task of erecting their tents and helping staff organise the campsite. After a sandwich lunch the students split off into activity groups: archery and orienteering, mountain-biking, paddle boarding and kayaking. The sun came out as everyone got ready for their afternoon of outdoor adventure… the squeals from those getting wet in the lake could be heard far and wide!
Day one closed with a meal cooked on their own camp stoves and games before it was time to crawl into the tents and get some sleep.
Although the weather was grey and wet, the students were up early on Tuesday preparing for their long trek on Exmoor and, after another night sleeping under canvas the final day started with games and challenges, which included taking down their tents, packing up and heading home!
