We would like to advise parents to, if possible, walk to our Open Evening on Wednesday 26 September from 7 pm. If travel by car is essential, please allow plenty of time as there could be congestion in the area due to the start of the Bridgwater Fair and on-going roadworks on Durleigh Road. Access to Durleigh Road is possible via Woodbury Road and Oakfield Road. There will be limited parking available on the school site, but please be patient and courteous as you arrive so that the area is safe for everyone. There may be parking available in surrounding streets.
Thank you for your co-operation.

We know how important it is to our parents to know what is happening at school. Being able to find the information you need quickly and easily, as well as knowing how best to contact the school when you have a question or concern, is vital.

We are delighted you are considering our school for your child. Haygrove is an excellent secondary school where pupils make good progress and achieve outstanding examination results.
Below are links to some of the important information you need to make the right decision for your family:
Haygrove students are always encouraged to develop their leadership skills through a wide range of opportunities and activities. A new year brings a new team of fantastic School Prefects and Junior Leadership Team (JLT). After submitting applications, Year 11s were selected by the Headteacher for their prefect role where they to assist staff around the school and to support the younger students during registration and lunchtime. They also liaise directly with the Headteacher and the Senior Leadership Team to ensure student views inform school improvement plans. Prefects, including the Head Boy and Girl and Deputy Head Boy and Girl, are important role models for younger students and provide valuable support to the Year 7 when they join the school.
We are pleased to share that our new Head Boy and Head Girl are Paddy Lockyer and Fleur Cooper who will be supported by Deputies: Cameron Bryan and Manon Wilson. A further 34 students make up the complete Prefect team. They will now be called upon to support the school staff and younger students at a wide range of school events, as well as undertaking Assembly duties.
In addition, 33 Year 10 students have taken their first step on the leadership ladder by being appointed as the school’s Junior Leadership Team for the coming academic year. The Junior Leaders will work closely with staff, especially the Head of Year and Mr Barter who has taken on the responsibility of developing student leadership potential at the school. This is to ensure the student voice is heard and that their feedback and ideas are taken into account when school projects are being planned and implemented.
Becoming a student leader is a great opportunity as it develops communication and organisational skills as well as leadership potential. All of our Year 10 and 11 students taking on these roles will gain new skills which they can use in the future and give them experience of supporting and helping others and leading by example.
We'd like to say a big well done to our new Prefect and JLT team for their appointments and thank them in advance for, what will be, an exciting year.
