Summer festival fever took over the school when student bands and solo performers took to the outdoor stage that was especially erected on the school field for a music spectacular named ‘Glastongrove’. For the first time, the festival (which is now in its 3rd year) was broadcast live by Bridgwater’s local radio station Sedgemoor FM. The whole school were given permission to enjoy the start of the festival which began after school lunch. Performers from all year groups took part and other students helped raise funds for charity and the school by running food and game stalls to further entertain the festival crowd.
‘This is a great event for our school,” said Head of Music, Mr Carl Whiteoak, “it is a chance for everyone to get together and enjoy the enormous musical talent that we have amongst our students. It was great to have Sedgemoor FM DJ Dave Englefield as our compare again and very exciting to know that many of the performances were broadcast live to the local community.”
