A group of Year 10 students, who are studying on our Vocational Pathway programme, traveled to the Langport offices of the Somerset Business Agency to present their ideas for two food products to local business people and be assessed for their Enterprise course.
The enterprise project challenged the students to invent and bring to market a new food product using entreprenurial skills that they have learnt as part of the course. Working in two groups, the students (after undertaking market research and product testing) chose two foods: cheese bread and chocolates. Next came logo design, branding, sales tactics and the development of a presentation to launch the two items: Cheezy Wheezy Bread and Mystery Moon Chocolates.
Thanks go to the local business people who kindly made up the audience and who helped raise £50 for Children in Need by buying the products, to Patricia Marsh and the Somerset Business Agency and to the Kitchen Bakery in Langport for producing the bread.
