Yesterday, 112 students and staff received a lateral flow test for COVID-19 in our new testing suite. The students were a mix of those attending for a vocational exam or revision sessions, children of keyworkers and vulnerable young people who need a place to come and study. Fortunately, no one tested positive! The site set-up has been led by Mrs Clark who heads up our Outdoor Education programme and was previously a PE teacher at Haygrove School. Mrs Clark has been supported by a range of staff and volunteers in order to get our school up and running as a testing site in just a few days.
Mrs Clark said, "Today was our first proper day of testing and we have a fantastic, efficient work force who were so professional in how they worked as a team in the testing centre, working with me. Super impressed and I have to admit relieved it all went smoothly and no one tested positive. I'd like to send a massive thank you to everyone involved, including those who were the first to come in for testing."
One parent whose children were amongst those tested said, "Can I say thank you for a really positive experience for both my children. Both came away happy and ready for the same next week."
