Below are links to some of the important information you need to make the right decision for your family:
School Librarian, Mrs Hodder -Williams has been encouraging students to save their crisp packets which can be usefully re-cycled at local collection points across the UK. Nearly 2 kilos of empty crisp bags were delivered to Nourish in Topsham, a zero-waste grocery store, who have joined in with the Walker's Crisp Packet Recycling Scheme.
Walkers have partnered with TerraCycle who are an innovative recycling company that has become a global leader in recycling hard-to-recycle materials and are asking their customers to deliver their used crisp packets to their local Terra Cycle depot where they can be recycled into, for example, plant pots, park benches, watering cans and cool bags. Whilst Walkers have committed to making all their packaging 100% recyclable, compostable or biodegradable by 2025., in the meantime, the partnership with TerraCycle is making it easier to recycle crisp packets and reduce the impact our crisp-eating habits have on the environment.
Thank you to all the students who made the efffort to contribute to the collection. If you want to find out more about the scheme and where the nearest collection points are, click here
