We are delighted to introduce to you the Haygrove Academy Trust. As the founding school, Haygrove is a highly successful and oversubscribed academy that is located on the west side of Bridgwater and has been recently approved as a Teaching School (Quantock Teaching Alliance) with the Headteacher, Mrs Karen Canham, awarded NLE (National Leader of Education) status.
There are currently two local primary church schools applying to join our Trust and we are in dialogue with several other primary, secondary and special schools.
The development of the Trust is integral to building capacity, sharing best practice and promoting excellence in teaching and learning from the very start of the academic journey and beyond. We are passionate about developing the whole-child by incorporating high quality curriculum and character education that will enable each child to develop into well-rounded good citizens with a passion for learning and a desire to achieve.
Our Vision and Mission are key to our school improvement strategy.
Our Vision is:
To deliver an exceptional education with the aim of increasing the life opportunities for all learners in our Trust community, regardless of their ability or background.
Our Mission is:
To improve outcomes for all pupils across the Trust, particularly for those who are disadvantaged.
The overall aim of our Vision and Mission is to provide clarity of purpose in driving our strategy for a culture of continual improvement.
We believe that at the heart of school improvement there is a need for a strong culture in which relationships are key to effective and productive collaboration. We are hugely ambitious for all learners across our Trust, regardless of background or ability. We are also keen to support the sustainability of our small local schools, ensuring equity of access to opportunities, curricular and non-curricular, particularly for those children and families who live in remote areas.
We are already supporting other schools in the area, primary and secondary, and are appointing a team of Specialist Leaders of Education (SLE) incorporating primary, secondary and special education. These specialists, alongside our own NLE, will provide school-to-school support to those schools most in need in areas including core subjects and all aspects of leadership through a range of interventions designed to raise standards and utilise the expertise within.
Alongside this, the Teaching School is able to provide comprehensive Continuing Professional Development, securing local and national experts to deliver high quality training that has a true impact on the quality of teaching and learning and education delivered to all of our school population. The Teaching School is also enabling us to build a network of partners across and beyond our immediate community.
This is a very exciting time for us as our Trust develops and grows and we feel tremendously proud to be leading this development using the best practice of other Multi-Academy Trusts but to be essentially innovative and creative in our strategies for meeting the needs of our local children and families.
We seek and welcome like-minded leaders and governors to contact us to arrange a visit and find out more about us.
Members and Trustees of the Haygrove Academy Trust
We are delighted to be established as The Haygrove Academy Trust and we are seeking partners, both primary and secondary, who share a similar vision, values and ambition to our own.
For more information, enquiries should be made directly to the Headteacher,
Mrs K Canham.
Our Proposal for a New School in Bridgwater (Queenswood School)
The Local Authority have now indicated that the need for extra school places, as a result of proposed residential development in our area, is now projected for a couple of years later than originally predicted. This means that we are postponing the submission of our bid for a new Free School for Bridgwater until a more appropriate date.
