From Christmas classics to modern masterpieces, proud parents and members of the public came together at St Mary’s Church in Bridgwater to witness the return of Haygrove's annual Christmas Concert. Students from across the school performed an array of festive songs, impressing the audience and getting everyone in the mood for the holidays.
The evening was full of wonderful performances including multiple mashups of festive and modern songs that showcased the students’ brilliant talents and creativity. The evening started off with parents joining in to sing together a congregational carol followed by the talented toe-tapping folk group their rendition of ‘Three Ships’. Tabitha Silverson (Year 10) also took on a challenge as she wowed the audience with an amazing cover of Mariah Carey’s ‘All I want For Christmas Is You’ and Molly Pickles (Year 10) received huge applaud and cheers after her cover of Jeff Buckley’s ‘Hallelujah’. Highlights of the evening also included performances from the school choir, big band, little big band, acapella group as well as a very special performance from Stogursey Primary School Choir.
Readings were also given by students and Haygrove’s headtecher, Mrs Canham, who finished off the evening by congratulating all of the performers and special guests.
Huge thanks to Mr Whiteoak, Miss Powell and to St Mary’s Church for making this magical event come to life, everyone should be very proud of their outstanding performances!
